From 1977 on he directed the Collegium Musicum of the Berlin Universities for many years as well as the Chorwerkstatt Berlin from 1991-2004. In 1977 he founded the Neuk\u00f6llner Oper external link, of which he was artistic director for 30 years. His version of Viktor Ullmann&#8217;s opera &#8220;Der Kaiser von Atlantis&#8221; (1989) was the impetus for the founding of the association musica reanimata, on whose board he serves. Winfried Radeke has written 16 operas, three oratorios, a symphony, choral music and many songs and children&#8217;s songs, for which he also wrote the texts, as well as numerous arrangements. He directed three productions at the Halle Opera House.<br>He has been awarded the German Critics&#8217; Prize and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, among others.
