In his new book <em>Die rissige Br\u00fccke \u00fcber den Bosporus.<\/em> <em>A Century of the Turkish Republic and the West <\/em>, he vividly describes the main features and characteristics of Turkish politics, society and culture, while also taking an insightful and critical look at the behaviour of the German media and politics. This information opens up a further, more in-depth view of the events and backgrounds that are the subject of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neukoellneroper.de\/en\/performance\/haydar-tanzt\/\" data-type=\"play\" data-id=\"17601\">HAYDAR TANZT<\/a>. In the discussion, D\u00fcndar will present his book and key facts, accompanied and musically commented by Alevi music by composer and Ba\u011flama specialist <strong>Taner Akyol<\/strong>. The discussion in three languages will be moderated by <strong>Bernhard Glocksin<\/strong>, artistic director of the Neuk\u00f6lln Opera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can D\u00fcndar is one of the leading experts and critics among the international public. The columnist and former editor-in-chief of the <em>Cumhuriyet<\/em> newspaper, who also works as a TV presenter, was accused of espionage in 2015, arrested and sentenced in absentia to almost 20 years in prison for &#8220;espionage&#8221; and &#8220;supporting terrorism&#8221;. He was acquitted of the charge of making secret information public. D\u00fcndar has been working in exile in Germany since 2016. He is editor-in-chief of the web radio \u00d6zg\u00fcr\u00fcz (&#8220;We are free&#8221;). His more than 20 books deal with the founder of the state Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk, Ismet In\u00f6n\u00fc, N\u00e2z\u0131m Hikmet and others. Since 2016, D\u00fcndar has written a regular political column in the weekly newspaper Die Zeit.
