OPERA ACCESS is a web application for the individual display of surtitles on the smartphone. For selected productions, surtitles are available here in several languages and sizes and can be received quickly and easily via the smartphone’s web browser. Downloading an app is not necessary
HOW?
To use OPERA ACCESS , simply scan one of the QR codes posted on our premises. You can use your own smartphone for this purpose. If you do not have a smartphone with you, you can borrow one from us for the duration of the show.
HOW TO:
1. Log in to the NKO guest network “NKO Gast”, password: “nko-gast”.
2. Scan one of the posted QR codes or go to neukoellneroper.de/operaaccess-ut
3. Choose language and size of surtitles
Useful settings for your cell phone:
– Set phone to sleep mode or manually turn off notifications
– Extend/turn off automatic lock of the screen
– Set phone to dark mode and reduce brightness
– Add/save OPERA ACCESS website to home screen
WHY?
Almost all productions are in German and surtitles are only available in selected productions in one language at a time. To enable those with little or no knowledge of German to visit our productions in the future, we have developed the OPERA ACCESS application together with a programmer. It transmits multilingual surtitles in real time to the audiences smartphones.
At the moment we offer surtitles for the following productions:
HAYDAR TANZT (Turkish/Englisch/German, all shows)
ANNA & EVE (English/German, all shows)
FRAU OHNE SCHATTEN (German/Englisch, all shows on Fridays/Saturday/Sunday)
