Envy and greed are booming. Instagram, Pinterest and co. are built on this, “captivating” their users with promises of wealth and fame and generating new professions such as influencers and content creators. But does that make us happy?
Instead of sounding the alarm, we set off for an entertaining and enlightening summer evening both indoors and out. Cinderella’s therapy sessions take place in the cool atrium: as an influencer and SM entrepreneur, she has literal sales worries, a therapist in worn-out sandals and the experts Baum and Wagner are supposed to help her out of her crisis. But aren’t there also evil, envious stepsisters in this fairy tale? And what would they look like today?
Outside, in the secluded courtyard garden, media expert Stefan Mey indulges in a kind of digital nirvana, because if you want to free yourself and take action, you need alternatives. What these alternatives are and what we can gain from them is the topic of the second part over a summery drink. And since music can’t be missing from anything: it will be jazzy and sung. A warm welcome!
With: Lisa Mader (acting), Dr. Julia Baum (cognitive neuroscientist at the Institute of Psychology, Humboldt University Berlin), Sabrina Wagner (communication and political scientist at the Federal Association of Consumer Organizations), Stefan Mey (freelance IT journalist), Michael Riemer, Hiromu Seifert (music), Hajo Toppius and Sascha Schneider (Kollektiv Selbstgebaute Musik) and Bernhard Glocksin (therapist/moderator), Sabrina Rossetto (script, set), Uwe Lochner (technology) and the team of the Museum of Communication Berlin.
